The weaker vessel: a woman’s lot in 17th centuary england by Antonia Fraser (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Weaker-Vessel-Women-History/dp/1842126350/sr=8-1/qid=1167832890/ref=pd_ka_1/026-2898320-0006808?ie=UTF8&s=books) is one of my favourite books on two of my favourite subjects: women’s history and the restoration.
Restoration London by Liza Picard (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Restoration-London-Everyday-Life-1660s/dp/1842127306/sr=1-1/qid=1167833030/ref=sr_1_1/026-2898320-0006808?ie=UTF8&s=books) is also a fab read.
I have both in a box somewhere if you can wait a few months before they are available for lending. But The Weaker Vessel is one of those books every home historian should have.
