Hope it didn't cost too much.

Our washing machine's not quite on the blink. (Twice it's gone all blinkenlights on us, and the manual says if so try turning it off and back on again, and that's fixed it, but I want to know *why* it's doing that).

At least you did not wait for 1 or 2 weeks. The next day sounds fast to me. I rarely get a fast service from any landlord.
