What annoyed me about The Killing is that if you acutally try to reconstruct the dead girl'sfinal day, it turns out something like she went to a party-owned flat to meet someone she was having an affair with, borrowed a car, went to school, left the car there and travelled to see her ex-boyfriend by other means, went back to the flat, arranged to catch a train, decided not to catch it after all but gone to meet someone else, and a couple of other side-trips that were apparently expressly for the purpose of generating red herring, before actually getting murdered.
Basically if she had known she was going to be killed and decided to leavel as many false leads as possible, she couldn't have done any better.
