Amen.

It wouldn't have been so bad, were it not for my having sufficient foolhardiness to run at the railway-line-like traverse without holding on (arms outstretched for balance); half way along, I misplaced my left foot and "landed" both armpits on the wires I was supposed to be holding on to...!

Another hot soothing bath tonight, methinks.

I was quite impressed by your balance, but not that surprised to hear it went wrong on occasion ...

My tibialis anterior (I think - muscles on the front of the tibia, opposite the calf) ache, and I have a few bruises, but otherwise I survived intact. I'm surprised, as I really thought the effort I had to put into the stirrups would make my shoulders punish me.

It was a very good day out, I think we should go again.

No sore shoulders, arms or stomach muscles then? Lucky you. I'm just glad I don't have hayfever or a cold at the moment. My legs are fine though (apart from the bruises, but I can't even feel those)

I won't say that I didn't put much effort into the stirrups, since I think someone would murder me...

My shoulders are extremely achy, and although my legs are mostly OK from time to time they complain loudly. Stomach is fine.

*Ouch*

When I stopped holding on, I found that by the time I got to the middle of the obstacle, it was swaying too much for me. Also, I cheated by putting my weight on the harness.

I can lift my hands above my head still...

Oh, I can lift them there, it just hurts to do so. Getting better already though, actually.

Ah, but it doesn't hurt me...

No sore shoulders, arms or stomach muscles then?

Nope, sorry. Today was legs and arms day at the gym, though, so I'll see if I ache tomorrow with the cumulative effect.

I didn't get to see a lot of people do the stirrups, how did people fare?

[identity profile] beckyc.livejournal.com 2003-10-06 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You're sorry that you didn't have sore muscles? Perhaps you should try it again one-handed or with weights strapped to you or something? I'm sure your muscles would hurt then...

I didn't get to see very many people doing it either. You and [livejournal.com profile] naath and Suzy were pretty much it. Suzy made it look absolutely effortless and hadn't done it before.

[livejournal.com profile] davefish, [livejournal.com profile] ewx and I tackled the stirrups in quick succession. Ouch^2. They were absolute bloody murder.
