I was about to ask why various obvious choices like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot were missing, but then I thought to Google a little. Apparently all your options are characters from CSI.

Unfortunately, I've only seen one episode of CSI. It was "fur and loathing" and I was watching it with a bunch of furries. I doubt this experience has given me an especially sound impression of the series.

Dr Spencer Reed

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0452046/

Easily the best crime thang on TV.

Incidentally, I've just noticed something about Evil Edna: looking towards her, her controls are on the left. On almost all normal televisions that have controls to one side, they're on the right.

I wonder if that's what makes her evil…

Gibbs is from NCIS, not CSI.

Ah, well that answers my first question, "Who?"

My next was going to be, "What if I'd been given a slow-acting irreversible poison?" Then I might just about manage to make time to go on livejournal and be offended by your tickybox, before flaming out in a blaze of glory ;)

...and the pairs are from various versions of Law And Order.

In the first case, I'll take Sara Sidle and Sofia Curtis.

In the second, I'd much rather have Ash and Scribbs from Murder in Suburbia,
or the lovely ladies of Women's Murder Club.

Oh, or, perhaps, Emily Prentiss and Jennifer Jareau from Criminal Minds.

But that seems to break your poll. ;-)

I think Sidle + Curtis would be much more interesting if I wasn't dead at the time l-)

I'm sure it could be arranged...?

:) I won't go any further, but I'll say it seems my jokes always get a reception :)

Of my choices, Grissom would be #1.

Well, yes. You have a point, but they also make a pretty good crime busting team, so I'd want them to find out whodunnit. (Far more than any of the blokes, anyway.)

Mmm, Gibbs.

I think I'd want Dexter Morgan investigating my murder, because I know what he'd do to the perp ;-)

"Did we just witness a murder?"
"I don't know, but he certainly killed that joke!"

[identity profile] oldbloke.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never watched ANY of those, and I want Sam Spade to catch my murderer.
And if I did it, any of Christie's detectives, coz the holes in her plots are so huge I reckon I'd give 'em the slip without much bother.

I only played some games until I was stuck. The trial version did not stop. But the game Law and Order does not really give an idea of the character of the characters.

I must admit, I had you in mind when making the poll. I'm slightly surprised at Mac Taylor's low popularity...

[identity profile] damerell.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
I was wondering about that too, since I'd never heard of anyone on the list. Father Brown? Peter Wimsey?

[identity profile] senji.livejournal.com 2008-01-28 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Dalziel and Pascoe please, who'd be right-royally-offensive to everyone in the process. And if I did it then I want someone totally incompetant to investigate so that I can get away, of course, not one of these TV detectives...

They all occasionally fail; and Goren's failed to put Nicole Wallace behind bars multiple times.
