Changeling

Changeling was pretty well done. Scripted by JMS and directed and unobtrusively scored by Clint Eastwood it recounts the tale of Christine Collins and her struggle to get the LA police to actually do their job in looking for her missing son rather than, get this, fob her other with some other boy. Wikipedia describes though some of the details differ (and obviously don't read it if you don't spoilers for this film). The cinema was virtually empty which seems a shame though. Jason Butler Harner is particularly good as the deranged Northcott.

I keep meaning to see it, but haven't been in the right mood (it doesn't seem like the most cheerful film).

It's not what you'd call cheerful, but I've seen more depressing films in recent times.
