BK is American in origin, but were until recently owned by the British company Diageo, who sold it back to the Americans a year ago in order to concentrate on drinks. Diageo was created from the merger of Grand Metropolitan and Guinness. Grand Met obtained Burger King when they bought Pillsbury.

It's not very clear from the ad what's so different about the specific burger that they're selling. It looks just like a burger to me.
