If you update a journal entry, and it has 'current music' filled in (which mine almost never do, making this question a bit academic), should you update that too, or leave it as it was?

Not unless you're changing the time/date as well. "Current" reflects the stated time.

It almost does. . . problem is, the natural order is to fill the time in (or have it filled in automatically), then type the entry, then fill in the music. So the music could be quite a while after the stated time, depending on how long it took you to write the entry. :-)

Either. If the music was related to your old post (or comically unrelated), then keep it. If the music is relevant to your update, then change. If both, then do something odd. If it's just a "what's on my playlist at the moment", leave it as is, for convenience, unless you want to mention the new music...

Your lj, your choice...

Depends on your software, I imagine: my posting software doesn't fill in the time until I actually make the post. If I could be bothered with "Current Music", then I suppose that would also be when it queried my running xmms (if any).

Well, OK. I am old fashioned and do everything over the web. :-)
