irc hackery
Oct. 5th, 2002 08:12 pmI've been writing an IRC client library in C. At the moment it will connect to an IRC server and register user information and nick, and handle PINGs from the server automatically. Anything else gets passed on to the user via callbacks.
I have a miniirc program which lets me test it a bit, and it seems to work so far. But the library really needs to know about channels and nicks, CTCP, etc before it's of much use to anyone.
It uses liboop and GNU ADNS. If you care, the CVS repository is mirrored to chiark nightly. I wouldn't describe it as "stable, mature software" yet though l-)
