celery, cesspit, cedar, ceiling.

I can't think of any counterexamples. Ceri, perhaps.

Celeborn. (If that's not cheating.) But the "C" stands for a word starting with a "K" sound, you see.

Celt. (OK, so I had to resort to the dictionary to come up with a counterexample...)

Also, Chambers claims ke-ram'ik as an alternate pronunciation for "ceramic", but I'm not sure I believe it.

She's never complained when I called her 'ceb', so I've been assuming that that's the authorised version.

Although I personally would find it less confusing if it sounded like keb.

Properly seb, though I will respond to either (once I've got over it not being Clare).

kinema is (or was) an alternate spelling of cinema (moving pictures - same root as kinetic, kinematics). I don't know whether the "cinema" spelling was used with the "kinema" pronunciation.
(There was a Mill Road Kinema. Google says it was last used 1986 and demolished 1996.)
