Having spent the afternoon watching The Pyramids of Mars, Attack of the Cybermen and Dragonfire (courtesy of UK Gold) I thought it had an awful lot going for it. Particularly, confounding my scepticism, Billie Piper made a much better debut than Sophie Aldred. I'll probably made more of an analysis when I've seen a few more episodes/seen what the fanboys are frothing about/read "On Fairy Tales".
Yup, but I liked it too, and it didn't seem to have put you off watching since. (Yes, the Catchup Has Begun, courtesy of one (scratched :-( DVD from Church End Library.)
When I was eight, the second-last Tom Baker episode scared me so much I vowed never to watch Doctor Who again. Since then, I have never missed a single episode. The mere fact of not having a TV isn't enough to have put me off; the only reason for the year and a half's wait was not until recently having a DVD-ROM drive. :o)

Shame they had to pretend that Cardiff was actually London, though (see my post).

("Kneel! Kneel, plaything of Sutekh!", etc.)
Top line from tonight's programme had to be:
"If you're an alien, why do you have a northern accent?"
"Lots of planets have a north."
