You poor thing. Are they starting to suggest that you spend the next week lying very still and occasionally being brought chicken soup, or is this simply something you have to endure, while carrying on your usual duties, until it goes away?

Yeah, listening in to the internal meeting about it now. It does increase uncertainty a bit, but it's familiar territory in that I've been thru takeovers twice before.
One was pretty positive[1]; although the other was negative (for me; possibly good for the firm as an entity) it gave me the momentum to find better things. Obviously it remains to be seen how this'll turn out (if indeed the offer is accepted) but I think I'm pretty happy to wait and see for the time being.
[1] it certainly had its downsides too, as damerell might tell you, but I think it worked out pretty well for me.
