Fight Club with a gay estate agent as Tyler Durden: what, you may ask, is not to like?

We're told, somewhere or other, that every character is going to have a same-sex liaison at some point. If this was as close as Owen gets it'll be a bit of a cop-out, I think; but there's already been a definite tendency to be less explicit about the male homosexuality than the female, so we may yet be disappointed.

Gwen continues unable to do anything right. Of course she didn't know about Dianne; of course she drugs Rhys after confessing to him; when she (or is it Owen? I'm losing the ability to tell them apart) asks “why are we doing this” you have to wonder what on earth either of them see in each other. Owen's cheerful amorality is at least consistent; Gwen seems to have sunk a long way, arguably beyond mere cold pragmatism, in quite a short time.

Mark Lynch seems to know about whatever-it-is that is coming for Jack; given that he shows know other signs of having any special knowledge or background at all, this seems rather odd. Unfortunately by this point I'm compelled to put it down to lazy scripting, a perceived need to keep the backplot in the audience's mind, despite the number of us studying every episode in obsessive detail...

Next Sunday's is, again, at 2130. Apparently the next one is Monday at 2130 on BBC3 (see comments).

Didn't Owen have a same-sex liaison (off camera) in the first (or perhaps second) episode?

(With the spray that made people instanty fancy you - he used it on a woman, whose boyfriend then stumbled by and saw them, so he used it on him, too.)

My interpretation was that he used the spray on the angry boyfriend so that he and the woman would fight over him, as distraction while he escaped.

I have much lower views of Dr. Daterape I'm afraid.

With much hope for a really good spin-off, I watched about 5 minutes of the first episode I could get to.

um.

Maybe if my expectations had been lower... much lower... somewhere around gutter level perhaps...
