Nuclear dreaming
May. 27th, 2003 06:05 pm...having been reminded by someone else about dreams I had a very odd one on Sunday night which I intended to write about here. It started out with me as a (possibly furry?!?) slightly Robin Hood type freedom fighter, moving through a forest or something and aware that I was involved in a struggle against some kind of (technologically advanced, and possibly off-planet, but maybe human) invader. At some point I and some associates determined the location of some kind of base, and infiltrated it. Most of this base was in a very large cylindrical hole in the ground. We killed (or possibly just tied up?) some of the occupants and must have set the place on fire, because it was quite hot by the time we'd finished.
Anyway at this point we decided to explode a nuclear weapon in this base, so one of us went further down to place it while the rest of us headed back up top to wait for them. The dream then shifted to wandering around the city at the top of the hole (which I'm sure hadn't been there when we went down) waiting for the bomb-planter to return and looking for something to act as cover when the bomb went off. All the buildings were quite low and quite a few had glass to hide behind, but I found somewhere that seemed suitable and hid under a table (for some reason there was a cluster of apparently unused tables in the square behind it).
The bomb duely exploded with large amounts of dust being propelled up out of the hole (it must have been quite far down the hole or I'd have been vaporized). The aftereffects were pretty gruesome though, piles of charred bodies in ruined buildings. Also there was a huge amount of dust floating around, as you might reasonably expect. And there was some woman wandering around with a pint glass occasionaly drinking from it (which seemed rather rash in the circumstances), which I assume to be a rather out-of-place reference to the beer festival.
I have no idea what this all means. Any government agencies reading this should be aware that the above is what my subconsious does in its spare time, not what I plan to do next...)
