I don't seem to have said much about this week so far. Saturday is fresh in my mind though and the rest can wait.

We went punting in the afteroon with a mixture of friends from various places: marnameow, ali_anarres, damerell, sbp, daneel_olivaw, uon, hampsterboy, nslm and choric. We got a fair way up the river, stopping briefly for bridge-hopping and to swing out over the river via a rope, eventually stopping for a picnic. Most of the others had (voluntarily) gone over the side by this point, and returned to the theme on the way back. It was good to go punting again and not a moment too soon after the last trip; particularly after damerell's how-to I feeling like some of the rough edges in my (not IMO too bad anyway) punting technique are smoothing off quickly.

After that to the pub where we ran into, can I remember the full list, sphyg, mstevens, mobbsy, _nicolai_ and cjwatson. We'd originally planned to go home to get food before the next step but ended up eating in the pub.

And thence to ghoti's birthday party which returned to the aquatic theme with a paddling pool (or paddling pull?). Glad to have brought swimming trunks anyway. Again a lovely time though tiredness definitely starting to creep up by this point unfortunately. Any number of familiar, semi-familiar and completely unfamiliar people. Green hair good. Rather amused by LNR's farewell l-)
