You missed out fast swimmers. I'm sure that arrogant annoying fast swimmers must get on other peoples nerves.

Or at least, if I was a very slow swimmer, I reckon I'd think that. Being a mid speed swimmer, they don't bother me.

Oh, and I should also point out that none of these are intrinsically annoying, it's only when they stop me from training properly that it annoys me. I'm quite happy for flailers to exist and even to go swimming, provided they don't get in my way. eg by going in the fast/training lane.

Fast swimmers going your direction don't get in your way the way slow swimmers do. Fast swimmers going the opposite direction either steer or fit into at least one of the above categories anyway.

Fast swimmers when you are lane swimming are a bit more problematical.

Oh, and you also missed out "People who don't let you overtake", either by swimming in the middle of the lane or by not waiting for you to pass at the end of a length, contrary to what the rules for that lane quite clearly state.

Oh, and people who start a length just as you are doing a turn at the end.

People who wear fucking PERFUME. I mean it's a bloody swimming pool you are not on the pull and even if you were, you wouldn't help things by splashing yourself with whiffy muck that spews into the water leaving a trail behind you that stays there for ages and pollutes the entire lane.

People who wear make up and permed hair in the swimming pool and then swim with their head a foot out of the water looking retarded.

Unfortunately, I just don't seem to be able to get myself organised enough to actually *go* swimming, any more. :-/

People who don't understand lane discipline and swim across the lanes.

When I used to go, there was a bloke who WALKED. Treaded water just fast enough to keep his chin above the line, and oh so slowly did his 400 metres (or whatever it was). Impressive, in its way. Possibly some occult fitness regime, or a way of dealing with some sort of injury.

I once noticed someone jogging on the spot in the middle of the anything-goes bit of the pool I used to go to.

most annoying people at swimming pools

Herds of people who hang about, sitting (dangling their feet in) or standing at the end of the lanes chatting.

Blokes who think the gym pool is for pulling/chatting up lone women.

Bloke who deliberately turn the temperature down on the shower by the pool and magicly appear when a female is showering. What's their problem? Don't they get to see pointy bits of the female anatomy at home?

Definitely people who swim across lanes.

And finally canoodling couples.
