I seem to have spent rather a lot of the last week doing Karate. Sunday afternoon was a one-off: an afternoon in Potter's Bar training with people from all over. Learned Tekki Shodan, a fairly advanced kata, and did some more general training; at the end some of the senior grades did some demonstrations.

Monday is an adults-only evening for my club and I went along to that. It was quite different in character from the Thursday evenings. Since it's the mid-evening in town I went to Monday evening pizza (for the first time in many years) between work and Karate.

Wednesday evening is a Kata class, in which I encountered my second new kata of the week, this time Heian Sandan. Two new kata in a week is quite a lot to learn compared to three in the last six months. I'm still distinctly shaky on both of these new ones right now, but it'll be rather a long time before I actually have to grade on them at all.

Wednesday's weather was rather wet as some readers might recall; Becky thoughtfully phoned to offer a lift but my phone was off at that point since I was having dinner with LNR, so only found out about this after I rather damply arrived in Cherry Hinton. Fortunately it wasn't so bad on the way home.

Thursday was the adults-and-juniors class that I've been going to all year, though being rather tired by this point it's perhaps not surprising that I was a bit uncoordinated at times. Good to see [livejournal.com profile] rmc28 along though.

While I doubt I'll go three times a week indefinitely I think I'll try to aim for that for a while.

At work I've spent most of the week designing a small part of a large project; it's at the point where I think I can reasonably start implementing sometime early next week, which will be just in time as we've got a new guy starting on Monday and he will be writing some test code for my output once he's found his feet.

It's a while now since I've done much work on DisOrder, but the enthusiasm of one of its users is pushing me back towards it a bit, which is good. I have another programming project on the go which has generated some interest from various other programmers, but really needs a reasonable amount more work before it starts to reach its potential.
