Sep. 9th, 2004 05:12 pmA second day off work, having felt completely horrid in the morning. I've been gradually improving thru the day though; currently considering Karate this evening and expecting to go back to work tomorrow.
I recently finished watching The World At War (there's multiple DVDs of extra material but I've got to the end of the series proper). This is a lengthy and famous documentary on WWII; it consists of footage from the war and people involved in it at all levels giving their memories, with a very occasional map and some footage of the same locations in the present (well, the 1970s, but long after the war ended); all narrated by Laurence Olivier. The contrast with CGI-heavy modern documentaries is striking and favourable.
