Friday we went to emperor's party, which was fun and had good cake, though I was rewarded with a fairly intense headache the following morning. On Saturday I took in both simonb/ejde's anniversary party, albeit only relatively briefly, and the ELOPP at lark_ascending/crazyscot's new place, which has really benefitted from their painting and decorating efforts. No headache despite a comparable amount of alcohol.

Sunday saw more martial arts with simonb and saraphale. As before the swords are the bit that really stick in my memory, though trying to deal with knife attacks was interesting too.

I got my bike sorted this morning.

I have a lot of leave to take before the end of November, so I'm probably going to take a couple of weeks off work quite soon. Weekends in October are looking kind of full already but if anyone outside Cambridge feels they'd like a visitor some time in the next month or so, pipe up.
