It's fantastic, but, but for some reason, probably the bridge being a result of anglo-french cooperation, when I saw Chirac on the TV last night, being all french and opening the bridge, I kept thinking of the Monty Python sketch about concorde, and giggling.
I love the little faq here - complete with question on whether drivers are likely to suffer vertigo when crossing the bridge. (Apparently unlikely to be a problem - there are horizontal panoramic views but at no point do you look straight down into the valley).
It's enough of an effort getting myself across the Dartford Crossing—I'm not going anywhere near that one. (Well, anywhere near the road deck. The valley looks lovely.)
We were on holiday in that area a couple of years back and I can testify to the traffic queues going down into Millau to cross the plain. I can vaguely remember that there was some sort of copnstruction work going on. Being me I remember better that it was from Millau that I bought a necklace consisting of a small leather boot on a chain!
I love big bridges and hope I will get to see this one and go on it sometime.

I'm not fond of bridges at the best of times, but that one just scares me witless.
