Meanwhile new_brunette has some photos of a rather damp part of Cambridge. It's mostly not that bad in the rest of the city but I did have to route around a few small floods on the way home from work.

Yours has better focusing though l-) In retrospect I think there's room for a stop smaller aperture in mine (f/5.6 1/200s). Maybe next time.

It's a Garden Orb-Weaver, Araneus diadematus. The most common orb-weaver in the UK.

I think it's Milton Rd/Science Park/Cowley road. Which is horrendous enough in rush hour even without the assistance of the weather.
