Some time ago I was given a puzzle consisting of 38 small wooden blocks:
All of the blocks are identical except for one. I took it apart, taking photographs at each step. In the end:
It then sat on the shelf for some years. My first attempt to put it back together, yesterday, came very close but ended in disaster. I tried again today and although it needed some partial disassembly, study and reassembly to correct its internals, I succeeded at last:
(The puzzle is sitting on a different face in the solved photo to the original, if you think it looks different.)

Date: 2006-04-16 04:21 pm (UTC)I visited the owener of The Puzzle Museum (http://www.puzzlemuseum.co.uk/) once as the owner is father of a friend. He selected some puzzles for us to do, that he could be solved if we couldn't and told use we could pick up anything from the museum, with one proviso, we could not leave until we put it back to it's original state. I wanted to try the Berrocal Horse sculpture butinstead I got to polish "Romeo and Juliet" (pics here http://www.puzzlemuseum.com/gallery/berrocal/berrcat.htm) I was glad to have help reassembling it!
