I can't outstare anything, having nystagmus is fun like that.
On the other hand it does stop then doing iris scans on me, so if I do a bit of DIY brick laying (tend to leave you with no recognisable fingerprints) then I think I can reduce the biometric measurements they could take from me to an amusingly small set.
At one point the ID card legislation had the interesting property that it could contain a subset of the proposed biometric data (to cope with freaks like me) but wouldn't hold any medical data, so couldn't say why it didn't hold the biometric data.
Ah - I always wanted to know and was too afraid to ask. That's the same as Mr Blunkett isn't it? I'm of course assuming that yours isn't as severe? I could be wrong. What do I know?
The bad eyesight is congenital cataracts, nystagmus is just something you tend to exhibit if you've had them, it's not noticable most of the time). I'm not sure what the cause of Blunkett's blindness is, but I believe he exhibit nystagmus as well, as does (I seem to remember) the head of the Foundation for Information Policy Research. So at one point the person in charge of introducing biometric ID cards and one of his main opponents were both miedically unable to provide said biometrics.
