I found him quite disturbing. And Blikdak gave me bad nightmares. I read the books in Dutch originally - they translate very well. (Blikdak would mean TinRoof, strangely).
Hmm. I had to look up Blikdak to remind myself. IIRC he doesn't actually do that much in the story other than be vaguely menacing. (Obviously there's the implied munching through the local virgins for the last few decades or however long it was but that's all off-stage.)
