(Unless it's the SF equivalent of a radioactive waste dump - it's all in one place, it's well signposted, you know you don't want to go there.)

It started well, as I recall, and had its moments, but by the end my overall impression of it was pretty dismal.

It struck me as a strange combination of Red Dwarf and The Office. If it wasn't of The Office inspiration, I might have enjoyed it more.

Apparently, Doug Naylor was approached to make another series of Red Dwarf. Given the last two series of that were dismal, it might still have been better. Apparently, he's still keen on making a Red Dwarf movie. Without Rob Grant's input, I feel it might be worse than Dark Star.

Red Dwarf is far superior to Hyperdrive, but I definitely agree with you about the last two series, save for the opening of Stoke Me A Clipper, which is genius.

Are you sure the movie is still on the cards? The last I heard they'd kind of shelved it because the actors are all either too old or doing other things now. I'd still go see it, Rob Grant or not. :)

I suspect this is a result of modern series being contracted for two seasons before filming is begun these days.
