Excellent news (because of the flood protection mostly).

The HLF press-release (http://www.hlf.org.uk/English/MediaCentre/Archive/The+Fens.htm) has a few more quotes.

The "aren't reporters shite" gene in me feels compelled to point out that whilst the Inde claims that nearly 3,000 acres of land is going to be bought, the HLF press release says 1452 hectares (3588 acres).

I say piss off some pagans again (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/6901543.stm), that appeared to be very effective at making it a bit wet.

The National Trust people at wicken fen bought some land to do this to years ago; they immediately ran into the barrier that they didn't know _how_ to turn fields into fenland. I suppose just flooding it is a start.

It's working for me now, too. Possibly WFY "again" rather than "still". /-8
