Take hot chocolate jar out of cupboard, read instructions on back, do whatever it says on them. It seems to vary a lot between brands, and I do it so rarely that I keep forgetting anyway, so I have no fixed opinion on how best to do it.
I believe there exists hot chocolate I'm allowed to drink, but I haven't yet gone out of my way to find it.
