...an answer that has seen him dubbed the "Lib Dem Lothario" by some, while others have reinvigorated the nickname coined by his leadership rival, Chris Huhne: "Calamity Clegg". "Shagger" would also, of course, suffice.

I'm surprised they didn't come up with “Clegg over”. I think if I were a politician I'd not have answered the question at all, personally.

[Poll #1164588]

(Choose the nearest number, except only choose 0 if that's exactly right. Slightly odd scale is due to LJ imposing a limit of 20 items. Approximations acceptable.)

Is this just penetrative stuff or does any kind of sex count ;)

I don't understand LJ; but I had expected "results viewable to: None" to mean I wouldn't see the results. That's why one of your entries is a blank answer with "I'll tell you..." ticked. Yet I see the results.

Presumably "results" is LJ-speak for "raw votes"?

Somebody used 'Clegg over' on R4 today or last night, I forget which.

Slightly odd scale is due to LJ imposing a limit of 20 items.

This is the kind of application that Renard numbers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferred_numbers) (ISO 3) are good for. Taking the R10 series and rounding to the nearest whole number gives the following series of 19 items:

0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100

I think if the people involved think it was sex (and aren't complete fruit-loops) then it counts.

I'm not embarrassed

The Times used "Clegg-over" today, in the dead-tree edition at least.

You can't do that in a "scale" question, though, so no "average" or "SD" figures automatically generated by LiveJournal.

And if you're going to just do a plain radio-button question, you can include up to 255 options anyway, so there's less need for Renard numbers.

There should have been an option for "I was forced to round up/down", I didn't feel it was fair to say "I lied" when I didn't have the option to tell the truth!

My total is actually the same as my current age (not for much longer though).

I was going to suggest (Renard) R10, but then realised it would go

1 1.25 1.6 2 2.5 3.15 4 5 6.3 8 10 12.5 16 20 25 31.5 40 50 63 80

You've obviously found a more sensible variant, :).

The media is still very strange about these matters. I was just reading about Mr Mosley's unfortunate exposee. It was claimed by more than one commentator that to have fantasies of the kind Mr Mosley clearly did questioned his sense of judgement. As if they were things you bought from John Lewis.

I think they were instructions to approximate, which isn't lying as long as it's understood you're doing it.
