Just walking across the car park at Wimpole when I heard a noise, looked up and said “Woah!”. As chance would have it I had my camera and the right lens.

(That's a Vulcan for anyone who manages not to recognize it.) Later on there was what I'm pretty sure is not only a Hawker Hurricane but in fact the same one as in the picture on Wikipedia.

I had no idea what this was at the time but a bit of Googling reveals it to be a Tiger Moth.

The red arrows were around too and earlier there was some kind of small fast jet doing acrobatics in the general direction of Cambridge. It turns out that the event was the centenary of Marshalls.

I saw the Vulcan on Saturday, at Kemble airshow - I hope my photos come out as well as yours did.

That's the Vulcan, based at Bruntingthorpe just south of here, the only one still flying (http://www.vulcantothesky.org/). I have a love-hate relationship with them - apart from the whole nuclear bombs issue, when I was a toddler we had a holiday near an air base somewhere in Devon or Cornwall and I was terrified of the noise they made. But they are a beautiful shape.

We lived on the Leicestershire / Lincolnshire border when I was a kid, and we saw them coming over a lot in the 1970s; and again in spring 1982, with the Falklands war.
