It's a Canon 50D. The sensor is about 1/1.6 of a 35mm frame in each dimension.

Cool shots.

A couple of weeks ago I was inspired by what looked like a macro shot of an eye. Which started me thinking about how difficult a shot like that is to get. After seeing how much macro lenses cost I went about the pringle tube and then extension tube route which was something of an adventure.To cut a long story short I found that it would be easier (and somewhat preferable) to pull my own fingernails out with pliers than trying to manually focus. At some point when I manage to beg/borrow/steal a macro lens I'll write up my findings.
