Where we are: Noh and friends are all set up to head to Ganwar, Somalia in what is basically a black op. Stark’s managed to give up his daughter to Jericho, who his flash implies for some reason didn’t just kill her and dump her in a river, but knows where to go next. We know that Campos and Simcoe have various links to Gibbons.

Starting a fight with your friends is a bit of a clichéd way of taking down your captors. Still, if it works, it works, at least up to the point that Abdi Kalif turns up in an armored technical and, er, guns down his own men. I guess being scared by a camel at an impressionable age will do that to a guy?

In the future, Marshall Vogel will say that Mark Benford is dead, after receiving a phone call. Perhaps a forward-looking statement, or just a lie (perhaps told by whoever called him), of course.

Ganwar appears to be entirely fictional, as far as I can tell. If test group B experienced a shift 2 weeks into the future, who were test group A?

Ganwar was 18 years ago, in 1991, a year before Campos invented the technology it used. We know Dyson Frost mysteriousy stole some of Simcoe’s work too. My suspicion is that Frost is exploiting some form of time travel to get his information, though whether that means personally travelling in time or transmitting information back to himself I could not say.

Evidently the reason for leaving the tower was to leave a message for the investigators. But why not just talk to them by some less esoteric means?

“I’m gay.” “I will make you gayer.”

My Mum predicted that Demetri was going to be the father of Janis' baby last week. I'm not sure how she does this.

Some thoughts:

So was Simon lying about not knowing Dyson Frost? Because if Lloyd knows him through attending his lectures, then surely Simon will know another member of the same academic field. Did Simon have direct links with Frost, or only second-hand via Fossy?

Ganwar was 19 years ago (counting whole years, that is), wasn't it? I think we're in January (or February?) 2010 now. So if Simon was 13 in 1990ish, then he must be in his early 30s now? That seems to fit.

Evidently the reason for leaving the tower was to leave a message for the investigators. But why not just talk to them by some less esoteric means?

Hmm. Maybe there's a dual purpose? But it can't just be that they didn't manage to dissemble it because of the war, because they deliberately used it for the tape and hiding the dead bodies, etc. So did towers like that play a role in the (main) FlashForward? If so, maybe one needed to be left standing?

Latest pet theory: In the future, Mark and Olivia don't actually break up. What the future actually reflects is different, e.g. Lloyd and Ryan have moved in with the Benfords for Blackout-investigation-related reasons (protection?). I'm not quite sure about this.

I wonder how Vogel's going to turn out. Everybody hates him, so surely he'll end up being a good guy.
