Was mistaken for a student at lunchtime. I think that's about the fifth time in the last 2-3 months.

Bastard. Haven't been mistaken for a student in quite a while, although [livejournal.com profile] ias still gets mistaken for one by the freshers at the beginning of the academic year (before she gives them the talks to welcome them to the halls she looks after).

Did get mistaken for female by some elderly Scottish tourists in Amsterdam last week, but that was probably the result of poor sight on their part.

I seem not to be, any longer. But if I wear a slightly shabby coat and a university scarf, I can pass for a postgrad if I need to. This can be handy when gaining access to colleges, etc.

I am occasionally mistaken for a student by some of the older secretarial staff at the Judge Institute. Even when they've met me before and been told what I do. It's annoying because it means they try to deny me access to the staff photocopier!
And a very elderly woman in Scotland a couple of weeks ago claimed I looked too young to be married. At least I don't get asked for ID in pubs :-)

Dawn, late 30's, sometimes gets asked for ID. It's quite amusing when it happens.

When shopping in supermarkets, I sometimes get mistaken for a member of staff. Things that contribute are if I'm wearing a tie, or if I'm stopping to write things.
