This morning on the way to work I heard a loud plasticy crunch and looked back to see a motorcyclist on the ground. He'd been overtaking a car, the driver of which had apparently decided to do a U-turn to avoid the lengthy queue of traffic ahead.
In the event the biker was OK and walking around pretty soon afterwards, though his bike will need repairing (as indeed will the car). The driver was in tears. There seemed to be some dispute about whether she'd indicated, and the eyewitness (i.e. the lead driver heading the other way) didn't seem to state an opinion on the matter while I was there.
Later on I came across a car stopped at the front of a lengthy and wiggly skid mark - however in that case it looks like it failed entirely of its own accord, as one wheel was at a bizarre angle and there were no other signs of damage.
