Lately, in random order:

  • Karate grading. Now I have an orange belt (who knew the Jómsvikingar used Karate?) and am extremely tired. No visible bruises, though there's a rather tender patch on my left arm. Kata with eyes closed was a pleasant variation (in the training beforehand, not in the grading itself!) Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] beckyc for transport.
  • [livejournal.com profile] emperor and [livejournal.com profile] atreic's engagement party. I hadn't seen their house before, and very nice it is.
  • Patched the obvious hole in my deflated tire. Five minutes later it was flat again; there was a second hole (or it sprung a leak on reinflation, possibly). All sorted now.
  • LNR and I had dinner at [livejournal.com profile] ghoti's, which was nice.

One of the problems with the three clues lemming is that the things I remember about people don't always match up well with the things they remember about me, it seems. Still, there's at least a guess against every response so far, at the time of writing.

Congrats on getting your orange belt. Doing kata with your eyes closed is a fun exercise - its interesting to see if you're pointing in the correct direction when you stop! It can also be interesting to do the "standing on one leg" balancing exercise and then close your eyes - it can show you how much we depend on our eyes for balance if you've not trained yourself otherwise.

As to tires with punctures; I've found that its easier to just replace the tire itself in the long run. If you get decent tires from Ben Haywards or similar places they tend to last better than Halfords ones and are often cheaper anyway!
