If you don't use your credit card for a few months, Lloyds send you some advertizing bumf encouraging you to borrow money at ruinous credit card interest rates, and half a calendar.

This must be like the accountancy equivalent of a horse's head, or something...

I got one of those today, but with a slightly better deal. My credit card now has an interest rate of 5.9% until February, for no good reason. I don't use it.

I think mine was 9.9%. Don't care, even when I was using it regularly I always paid off before any interest was due.

If you don't have a credit card, Lloyds oppress you with constant invitations to get one.

I got fed up with those and sent them a letter detailing all the reasons I didn't want one. They just sent me a fairly bland apology letter back, but they should have stopped sending me the crap now.

I use mine occasionally but not often - maybe once or twice a month. And always pay it off completely before any interest accrues. Somehow this has got me a credit rating that meant that the one time I forgot to pay it off one month, they didn't charge. It was only for about a tenner though. It's LloydsTSB.

Half a calendar?

Which half?

(And whats worse than finding a calendar in your post? Finding...)

Sorry. Friday afternoon syndrome.

No calendars, but I get loan adverts from companies whose cards I haven't used for months, ones whose cards I have used, and ones whose cards I don't have.

...the accountancy equivalent of a horse's head.

Nope. That's a friendly word with the company accountant: "I found ten dollars in the lift and I insist that the company should have it".
