Do they still sell Weetaflakes? I always wondered if those were the bits swept up off the floor.

I've not eaten Weetabix for many years - before the "Can you eat three" adverts (yes, that long ago) I used ot eat three.

You forgot the tickybox for "crispy and crunchy and mostly dry" or "mashed and lft to soak"!

That was Shredded Wheat, not Weetabix, wasn't it?

No, shredded wheat was the stuff that was like bales of petrified string. Weetaflakes was just .... the stuff that was Weetabix but not compressed into those funny shapes.

I don't think you noticed which of your comments I was replying to.

The "can you eat three" adverts were about Shredded Wheat, rather than Weetabix, I'm almost positive. And [livejournal.com profile] burkesworks seems to agree with me. :-p

That was Shredded Wheat, rather than Weetabix, that Ian Botham could eat three of. Lord knows why he'd want to unless all that wacky baccy gave him an appetite for chewing fibreglass.

Nah, it was definitely "Can you eat three Shredded Wheat?"

Now I've got the punk cover of one of their advert tunes going through my head; Short Commercial Break I think it was:

"...with all the goodness of wheat it's compleatabix..."

Damn you [livejournal.com profile] ewx! Damn you to Heck!

"...that's why Weetabix is unbeatabix."

Yep - I'd misread the comments. And yes, it was Commercial Break.

I eat Weetabix quite often, but not often enough that a box won't go soft before I'm done.

So I bought a catering box of Weetabix, full of individually-sealed two-biscuit sachets. That way, nothing goes stale. It also means I always eat an even number.

I either eat them plain, or with butter and maybe also jam or Marmite.

I eat those Mini fruit+nut weetabix, and I don't usually bother to count them :) I pour on milk then microwave for a minute or so to take the cold off.

I once accidentally poured orange juice onto my weetabix and it was surprisingly nice.

I voted for "never" but a better description is "nearly never". But as close to "never" as makes no difference, really.

I prefer Shredded Wheat, when I can get it, with warm milk and mashed banana. Oh, and two biscuits of it.

My Grandparents bought an Alsatian (Tammy) roughly around the time I was born. We both grew up with weetabix with butter on! Me and the dog would sit together munching our weetabix, until we were both 12, and she sadly passed away.

Alternative Wheetabix

Other ways of eating wheatabix include
- adding a dusting of either cinnamon or allspice when served with warm milk and a little brown sugar.
or
-spread the dry biscuits with butter and then dust them with sugar. (My mum always used to eat them like this when she was poorly, I think it was the only time she gave into this hideously unhealthy version of a healthy breakfast)

As kids we used to call Shredded wheat Wurzles, cos we thought they looked like Wurzle Gummage. (I recently discovered that 80 miles away ukwarwickdood's family were doing the same.)

I once ate cold pilchards on dry Weetabix. We were not happy with the person who left the stove behind in the minibus when packing the kayaks.
