I'm unsurprised to find that my friends like librarians overwhelmingly more than they do other things starting 'lib'.

I was amused, also, by the way responses to the death poll combined; psuedomonas's vote for dying "young and penniless, somewhere in spain, surrounded by friends at cumae, composing a scandalous list of the "nocturnal ingenuities" of nero" sounds, well, kind of busy. Relocating Cumae across the Mediterranean could be an interesting exercise too (or perhaps his friends are just waving at him?)

My knee is sufficiently recovered that I was back in the office today and back to karate this evening, which was just what I needed after nearly a week of relatively infrequently interrupted physical inactivity. I suspect I shall sleep well tonight (and soon, too). Grading soon!

Everyone loves librarians. Haven't you seen the horror that is ass_as_sin? :)

Coo. I hadn't seen it, but I have now. How would one go about posting to such a thing, if one were so inclined? Or is it a closed thing?

Have you been reading Gibbon before bedtime again?

I suppose suicide at Cumae might be a primary source (Petronius Arbiter?)

Another grading? Didn't you just have one a few weeks ago? How frequent are they? Maybe time passed more quickly than I realised. Good luck, anyway.

Mine's deferred until April - too much time out due to a back injury - so I don't do the shodan examination next year.

Talking of modes of death, I suppose everybody knows Hemingway's take on why the chicken crossed the road?
To die, in the rain, alone

They are every three months at the moment. The frequency will fall in the future though, some time next year I think.

LOL. There's a password which apparently is or was commonly known amongst assassin-y people[1], and that I knew once (obviously) but have now forgotten. Do you know any? It might have a 1 in but I probably imagined that.

[1] I was introduced by theinquisitor, naath and rjw76, with the advice that "if you forget, ask #assassin(s?)"
