The washing machine turned out to be broken beyond repair. I've ordered a replacement, but it'll be a week or so before it arrives. I now have a bunch of clothes hanging on a line outside, some of them still smelling faintly of soap despite my attempts to rinse them manually. I'd be quite pleased if my washing got rained on.

Luke is still in a very bad way.

Feel free to come round and borrow ours, although we no longer have a drier.

Fingers crossed for your cousin.

One of the easiest ways to rinse your clothes is to rinse them in the bath. You can see the soapy stuff swirling out.

It has indeed rained. I'll see what state they're in tomorrow. There's a few days yet before I might actually need to wear any of them!

I hope Luke pulls through. I'll say a prayer for him, unless you object (some people seem to).

I don't object at all. Thankyou.
