Spent some time wandering around between KH road and the A14 again, and filled my CF but wasn't very convinced by most of the results; a tripod might have helped in the rather few cases that my subjects stayed still long enough, but I'd not brought it with me. I've kept a few, but the purple flower above is the only one I want to publish right now. The cactus usually lives in the kitchen but went outside for a quick portrait session a few days ago.

I have a plan to create a quick-release string monopod.

Sort of. The quick-release attachment from my tripod has a small handle for turning the screw. My idea is basically to attach a small hook to a bit of string and put the hook through the handle when in use.
