Taken while I was fixing my bike on Monday.

I usually use aperture priority mode, this was a rare venture into the mysteries of shutter priority l-)

I wonder why each row is different?

Possibly Cambridge's most photographed building, but I'm not sure I've taken a picture of it I liked much until now. And while we're doing Cambridge stereotypes:

That bike valve: applause!

Sometimes, you see examples of really good technical photography (ie work-related) that are also beautiful; that's up there with the good 'uns.

I took several shots of the valve from various angles, the background in that one really made it stand out from the rest.

Truly, you see what you expect to see. It took me a moment or two to realise the first photo was of a bike tyre valve; at first I thought I was looking at an ersatz mezuzah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mezuzah).

The different rows are probably due to the effects of weather, and different amounts of water dripping from each sill or running over the wall below. Notice how there's a weather shadow under each little sill.
