A wet day in the university gardens
Dec. 7th, 2005 10:27 pmYes, it really did look like that. No, I don't remember what it is.
These are tiny. (I was having real trouble with lighting hence the limited DOF.)
This wasn't deliberately blurred: I wandered into a hothouse and then wondered why everything looked foggy through the camera even though it was perfectly clear through my eyes. Then I looked at the front of my camera, and rapidly retreated...
naath was very patient while
edith_the_hutt and I photographed all sorts of interesting and attractive things. (Edith's pictures via here.)
Bird of paradise plant. They have one of these at the front of Charlie Chan, too,

Date: 2005-12-07 11:12 pm (UTC)Have you done any processing on that, or fiddled with the exposure settings or suchlike? Just wondering, since the colour is rather striking; it might just be emitted vs. reflected light (LCD vs. print) but the contrast between orange (?) and blue (?) is a lot more obvious than I've ever managed on film.

Date: 2005-12-08 12:06 pm (UTC)The unidentified green thing is some sort of succulent; if you broke a leaf open it'd be all gelatinous inside, like aloes are. Did you find it in the rockery beds by any chance?
