I loved the dialog in this episode. First the Cybermen and the Daleks: it'd be dick-sizing if either of them actually had any kind of generative organ. “YOU ARE BETTER AT DYING.” While the repeated resurrection of the daleks is getting a little old I think it was worth it for that conversation.

Secondly the Tylers. “I'm rich.” “How rich.” “Very.” “How very?” I predicted the last one but possibly only because I'd re-read Falling In Love over [livejournal.com profile] naath's shoulder the other evening.

We were hoping that the ‘genesis ark’ would turn out to be the Master's TARDIS. No such luck; perhaps we'll get him back next series.

Last week I wrote, ‘Yvonne was good. Totally amoral yet somehow completely sincere’. Her lines argue for overwhelming loyalty to her country being the thing that made her rebel, but I think that really she was just a sociopath to start with and therefore not affected by the dehumanizing process used by the cybermen.

I absolutely loved the Daleks and the Cybermen bitching each other out. That was inspired. "NO. IT IS PEST CONTROL."

Also, right with you on Yvonne.

But didn't the Master actually get to the end of his regeneratiins and die, in the original serieseseses?

The Master reached his last regeneration somewhere between "Frontier In Space" and "The Deadly Assassin". He takes over the body of Consul Tremas in "The Keeper of Traken".

And then took over someone else in the movie.

Yes, the dialogue was wonderful in places. I particularly liked the Cybermen and Daleks swapping numbers (um, of troops - how did I make that sound slashy?) - "We are four" made me laugh out loud. Indeed, I was a bit diappointed that more Daleks turned up - I wanted the four of them to kick all the Cyberass, as it were.

I wish *they*'d explained why CyberYvonne remained the patriot, and indeed given her more of a role - the tear was a nice touch though.
