Apparently this is one of Pepper's favorite places to sit:

Knowlton Church is a Norman church built within neolithic earthworks, said to originally be of ritual significance though I don't know what evidence for that there is. It has evidently been abandoned for some time.

The nearby church at Wimborne St Giles is doing rather better.

Meanwhile back home the fence didn't survive the last lot of heavy wind:

I get the impression that any Neolithic structure of unknown purpose can be claimed to be of ritual significance :-) Certainly the Wikipedia article on henges doesn't give any justification for "ritual" beyond "not practical as defensive structure"... Bournemouth University have a rather elderly website about this particular henge. English Heritage say the church was abandoned after the roof fell in in the 18th century.
