Can anyone recommend for/against trackballs suitable for use with a laptop?

I'm looking for something that's:

  • fairly small
  • won't lose the ball if slung in a laptop bag
  • ideally, uses bluetooth (though usb might be ok)
  • ideally, that could be clipped to the side of the laptop

I remember Microsoft did a portable trackball which fitted *exactly* your requirements (other than being RS232, not USB or cough bluetooth) once, but that was in the early 90s. Never seen anything quite like it since.

The Genius Traveler 350 (http://www.genius-europe.com/en/produktdetail.php?ID2=33&ID=24&ID3=413) looks like the closest thing at the moment. USB not Bluetooth but that's survivable, my laptop isn't quite about to run out of ports.

This gadget (http://www.donya.jp/item/10499.html) looks a little too small.

This Slimblade (http://us.kensington.com/html/13880.html) looks like a reasonable bet too, won't clip on but OTOH does have Bluetooth.

Now all I want is somewhere I can try them out... l-)
