Talking of photo opportunities I spent the weekend in Newport, which has lots of wacky architectural and street-sculptural oddness going on. We found a very interesting suspension bridge outside the local arts centre, and this thing (http://www.newportpast.com/transporter/index.php) at the end of the high street...
We didn't get up it unfortunately, since we were lugging heavy bags about and only had an hour before a train left, but we decided Newport would be a good place for a holiday sometime so we may yet be back there :)
