That was a good weekend, although I seem to have come away from it with a collection of minor injuries.

Watching a video on Saturday the VCR seemed to adding rather a lot of noise to its output. The cable to the TV turned out to be so stiff that attempting to remove it caused it to break rather than shift. Fortunately it turns out that the STB can see the VCR over the SCART connection, as well as v.v., so we were able to finish watching the video (without the annoying noise, either).

On Sunday afternoon I decided to open up the cable a bit, to see if it was even vaguely possible to repair it. However through complete stupidity I managed to put a cm-long cut in the back of my thumb in the process. (And no, I don't think repair is possible, even assuming we care, given that we seem to have an adequate workaround anyway.)

On Saturday evening we went (or rather I went and then LNR came along later) to Ross and Vicky's house-cooling. My unusual (for me) mode of attire seemed to be well-received, and I had an even better time than I'd hoped for. And, er, picked up a suspicious looking mark on my neck in the process; it only hurts when actually prodded though.

And this morning my knee was aching, and I have no idea why.

Fortunately these things usually fix themselves given time :-)
(if only my flat worked the same way...)

Well, the scar from the cm-long cut I put on the knuckle of my thumb a decade ago is still there; I reckon it's staying put.

I was also digging at flex. In my partial defence, I was attempting the somewhat unusual feat of stripping insulation from the centre of a piece of mains flex at the time.
