Someone already invented that game where you have two words/phrases, and you have to find a series of webpages linking the wikipedia article on one to the wikipedia article on the other? You could play that.
I think this is to do with our social space being strongly hierarchical.
Also, people say very nasty things about people who aren't there, from which you can only deduce that the same would be true if you were to say something to them.
Also, there can sometimes be a kind of "unproductive" standing-order acceptance, which isn't really engagement.
Also, there can sometimes be a kind of consumer approach to social involvement, which means that you're unwilling to do things which devalue your stock.
Also, I suspect this comment is worded in a way that this anonymity is pointless, ;-).
Geeks. Not exactly people who are good at talking about feelings.
I don't want to talk about feelings with my friends, let allone my acquaintances. I find it difficult and embarassing, especially when I am less than entirely happy. What I want to do is drink too much port/wine/mead and argue about how bright the gorram moon is/play bridge/listen to people talk about computers.
We're Brittish damn it. Stiff upper lip wot wot. Cope with your own damn feelings, I'll cope with mine.
You missed out "... I didn't know," to which rysmiel's answer is "The other night, I dreamed my best friend was a horse."
I've had some strange dreams the last while, but the only one I can remember off the top of my head was the one in which I was at Limmud only it was set in Cambridge University, rather than Nottingham.
Speaking of which, there's a room in the East Midlands Conference Centre (known as the e mc2) where, if you hit a switch in the wall, all the windows instantly go frosted. How cool is that?
I hardly ever remember my dreams. The only one I remember from last year was meeting muninnhuginn in the kitchen at work. I don't know why they were there, but in the dream it wasn't a surprise. We just said "Hi" as we passed in opposite directions, and that was the whole of the dream.
There is an armed, undetonated hydrogen bomb in the water south-west of Qaanaaq in North Greenland. The US lost four there, but they only found three of them. The fourth one is still there.
Interestingly if you drawing pin this page and then leave an annonymous comment and then it gets replied to the email you receive includes 'someone replied to a comment in which you said' but if you further reply the email with your further comment in does not indicate that it was you who made it.
This is so going to get me in trouble, but fuck it, it'll cheer you up too :-)
You were always really good to me, and you're great in bed; in fact you're one of the people I most miss being with. You're also a fantastic top, and sometimes I wish my current partner could have watched us together, just for the educational value!
ewx seems to be in much demand: he clearly needs to produce a set of videos. You would probably need an Attenborough type person doing voice-over, too. That makes things educational, don'chaknow.
It's a little known fact that the uisgebeatha is unable to merge any of these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English-language_vowel_changes_before_historic_r#Mergers_before_intervocalic_r).
Also, you are pretty and take nice pictures of me, so please take more sometime. :)
There was (and maybe still is) a phonetics lecturer at Cambridge who merged tar, tower, and tire, and (quite deliberately, I'm sure) used these words as his canonical examples of homonyms in English.
